A browser (also known as a web browser) is a software application which allows users to navigate through pages on the World Wide Web. Browsers are able to display text and images as well as play audio and video. Using extensions, they are also able to run applications and other type of content.
Browsers are one of the most common ways in which operating systems get infected by malware, either by users visiting infected web pages, or by downloading bad attachments through web mail services.
