The Schneier method is a method of producing a strong password, popularised by security expert Bruce Schneier. The method involves using sentences or phrases and changing the words within to be represented by shorter characters or symbols.
One example provided by Bruce Schneier is to take the sentence “This little piggy went to market” into a password like “tlpWENT2m”. By using more character sets in the password, the password is more likely to be a strong one. The password is also less likely to be broken by any attacks making use of dictionaries, since the password is unlikely to contain any words.
